At the raid conducted by the Income Tax department at the Kaleesuwari Group last week, officials claim that they have detected a tax evasion to the tune of Rs. 100 crore.
The Group which is known for its ‘Gold Winner’ brand of cooking oil products is headquartered at R. K. Salai, Mylapore. Its production units are located in several cities including Chennai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru and Kakinada.
The Group is in consultation with its auditors and is expected to reply to the department soon.
