On Wednesday, May 17, Income Tax officials raided the offices of Kaleesuwari Refinery Private Limited, including the corporate office located at Rajasekaran Street, Mylapore.
In addition to manufacturing the ‘Gold winner’ brand of cooking oil, the company also produces a range of pulses, Eldia coconut oil and Dheepam Lamp oil.
The owner G. Munusamy’s residence at R. K. Salai, Mylapore was also searched.
Sources in the Income Tax department state that the raids were carried out as the company has been allegedly evading tax for the past three years.
