e much awaited celestial wedding of Lord Kapaleeswarar and Goddess Karpagambal was held yesterday evening (April 11).
More than a thousand devotees watched with rapt attention as the rituals were performed and the thali was tied around the neck of the Goddess. The flag was lowered after the ceremony.
Today morning, the deities will present themselves as Uma Maheshwarar and a veedi purappadu will be held. This is to enable those who couldn’t participate in the festivities (sick and disabled) to seek the blessings of the deity.
