Mylaporeans are invited to launch a series of small cultural activities in a public space on the pavement off Luz Church Road.
On Sunday, January 8, from 4.30 p.m. onwards children will be invited to take part or learn a few traditional Indian games.
The space is opposite the Amrutanjan office, next to the Marrybrown restaurant.
The space was designed as part of the newly-constructed sidewalks here. Already, a map and guide on a Mylapore Heritage Walk is displayed in this quiet nook under avenue trees. There are also a few cement benches.
As part of the Mylapore Festival that is on this weekend, this space is being activated. A photo show is planned. Says Kavitha Selvaraj, the architect who helped design the local project, “Mylaporeans must tap this space for simple activities or just sit and meet here.”
Chennai Corporation needs to fix a new set of street lights for this road.
