Carnatica in association with Ariyakudi Legacy Centre will be presenting a musical homage to guru Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar.On Jan. 21, tiruppavai will be rendered by Vaishnavi Anand and Shruti Jayaraman (disciples of Alepey Venkatesan) followed by Dr. S. Sowmya’s Arunachala Kavi’s Ramanatakam by Dr. S. Sowmya. This event will be held at Arkay Convention Centre, Luz, 6 p.m. onwards.
On Jan. 27, chief guest N. Gopalaswami, former chief election commissioner and chairman,
kalakshetra will release a DVD ‘Compendium on Ariyakudi’ by Alepey Venkatesan. Guest of
honour Sudha Raghunathan will receive the first copy. Concert by vocalists Ranjani and Gayatri
will follow. At M. Ct. M. School, Luz, 6.30 p.m onwards.
On Jan. 28, vocalists Alepey Venkatesan and Abhishek Raghuram will sing Ariyakudi’s hits and
pallavis. At The Mylapore Fine Arts Club, Oliver Road, Mylapore, 6 p.m.
