Nine cars, beautifully decorated and carrying the images of various saints including Saint Lazarus, were taken on a procession around Our Lady of Guidance Church, R. A. Puram this weekend.
The procession was part of the feast of Saint Lazarus festival celebrated by the church every year. The festival began on Jan. 19 with the hoisting of the flag and also included novenas held during the Holy Mass everyday. The festival ended with the lowering of the flag yesterday (Jan. 30)
All around the church, the streets were packed with hawkers selling everything from household articles and plastic items to toys and snacks for children.
