The members of the Vincent De Paul Society at San Thome will be celebrating Christmas at their office inside San Thome Cathedral tomorrow morning. A. Sarprasadanathan, the vice-president of the Society, says, “We have set up a small crib here and about 30 members and their families are expected to participate in the celebration. The parish priest will bless the gathering. Breakfast will be provided to all the members”.
Says Sarprasadanathan, “For us Christmas is all about giving. Every year, a month before Christmas we conduct medical camps and distribute clothes to the poor and underprivileged. This year, on Nov 20, we held a medical camp at a village at Pandravedu, Andhra Pradesh and on Dec 11 we distributed new clothes and snacks to the poor at Tiruttani”.
The Society also operates a free clinic and medical dispensary at its office on Mondays and Thursdays (4 p.m. to 5 p.m.). For details contact him at 9940258104.
