On Sunday (Oct 16), two youngsters travelling on a bike at R. A. Puram were injured when a speeding white BMW rammed into them. The motorcycle driven by Shankar Narayanan with E. Sudharshan, an engineering college student in the pillion, was hit by the BMW in front of Sangeetha Hotel. According to the police, the driver of the BMW, 25 year old Venkatesh, who owns a textile shop in Triplicane, was returning from a party in Puducherry and was reportedly drunk.
Both the bikers have been admitted into a private hospital. Shankar Narayanan is being treated for a fracture there. Venkatesh has been booked by the Adyar traffic investigation team.
