The Thirumylai MRTS rail station is to have a food court.
The Railways has decided to set up private food courts in a couple of stations, similar to the one inside Central Station.
Most MRTS stations, including the Thirumylai one have sprawling spaces for commercial use but the early efforts seem to have failed for various reasons. The absence of food joints and other shops in these stations make them dark, soulless spaces.
The Thirumylai station attracts a big stream of commuters especially at peak hour times in the morning and in the evening and some commuters say a food court here is welcome.
