The Music Academy, the Tag Corporation and Ramu Endowments is organising a raga identification competition for carnatic music rasikas. A short song or raga clipping will be played and the participant will have to identify the name of the raga. This competition is open to all age groups and will be held on Oct 16 at Music Academy, Alwarpet.
Performing musicians and music students will not be able to qualify in this event. To register provide your name, age, e-mail address and phone number to soomty@gmail.com and rajagopalk@tagcorporation.net.
Smt Sarada Sambasivam from Tiruppadiripuliyur won the Raga identification contest and remarked it’s a great move by the organisers and level of the contest was in line with the main objective. Well done Mr.Chari and Ms. Sumathi.
This is a fine event for rasikaas of Carnaatic Music.
