V-Excel Educational Trust, a social organisation involved in education and rehabilitation of persons with special needs, is offering a six-month program for vocational training in handicrafts in association with The Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. The trainees will be taught about various disabilities and ways of working with the special needs population, besides teaching different handicraft skills.
The training will include crafts such as paper mache, wood and metal crafts, ceramic and pottery, clay modelling, and cloth and jute products. The program will be conducted at V-Excel’s premises at #10/23, Sharada, Thiruvengadam Street, R. A. Puram. The training will be held between August 2016 and February 2017.
The trainees will be paid a stipend of Rs.5,000/- per month during their six months of training period and on successful completion, will be assisted for a job placement. The basic qualification for admission is up to twelfth (+2).
Applications are also invited for Trainers/Tutors in the above handicraft fields. These will be engaged on a contract basis, and payments will be dependent on their skill and experience.
