Pranav Kamesh, a resident of 1st Main Road, R. A. Puram, was the winner at the The Times Sudoku Championship that was held on July 31 at Chinmaya Heritage Hall and at the National championship held at Mumbai on Aug 7. At Chennai, there were two rounds in the competition – participants had to solve four classical Sudoku puzzles in the first round, and 43 made it through. In the second round, the shortlisted contestants had to solve eight Sudoku puzzles, with increased level of difficulty, in one hour. Pranav and two other finalists from Chennai went on to Mumbai to participate in the national finale which was held on Aug 7.
Pranav has made it through the finals and and along with three others, has been selected to represent India in the World Sudoku Championship to be held at Senec, Slovakia this October. At 16 years of age, Pranav is the youngest of the them. Pranav can be reached on 9840771250.
