Abinaya Rajendran is a student of class XI at Lady Sivaswami Iyer Girls Hr. Sec. School, Mylapore. She has won several medals and accolades in karate. But she needs funds to take part in the World Championships.
Most recently, she won the bronze in the 8th Commonwealth championship held at Delhi in September 2015. She was ranked 27th in a field from 142 countries at the World championships held in Nov. 2015 and she won the gold in the state-level competitions held in April 2016 and the gold in the National championships held in May 2016. Abinaya is looking for sponsors to help her train and win at the World Championships.
“She is a deserving candidate, even the school helps her out to enable her to participate at these events,” says a school staff.
