If you need to use the San Thome High Road post 3 p.m. on working days, especially the south to north side of it, think of an alternate route.
Now that the schools have reopened and at least eight large schools lie on or off this busy road, school traffic spills on to the road between 3 and 5 pm every day and creates long traffic jams now and then.
Those who on their way to Central Station and take this road are advised to avoid this road and perhaps take the inner Mylapore road, get on to Dr R K Salai and take the beach road turn at Queen Mary’s College.
The other side of San Thome High Road is relatively free at this peak hour time.
