Chaat corners are popping up everywhere in the neighborhood. You can now spot them even outside pharmacies and vegetable stores.
We spotted this new one in front of Muthu Pharmacy on V. K. Iyer Road, Mandaveli.
They are generally busy in the evenings when people stop by for a quick bite.
Traditionally, kaiyendhi bhavans – vendors selling idli/dosa from a push carts – dot the neighbourhoods; now chaat stalls, corn and soup stalls are popping up.
Probably an indication of people’s preference now for tangy tastes and the changing composition of people out on our streets and the residents in our colonies.

Is there any check on hygiene / health hazards by city authorities on all these eating joints?
