A five-day Pallavi Darbar music festival starts this evening, with the focus on the ‘pallavi’ in Carnatic music. Hosted by Carnatica and Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, the concerts featured at this fest highlights the pallavi, showcasing the art of the masters, of today’s artistes and the young artistes featured in a pallavi contest.
The launch event is at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore where, at 6 p.m. guru Chitravina Narasimhan will be decorated with the Pallavi Chakravarthy award. Abhishek Raguram will render a pallavi special concert at 7 pm.
Concerts will be held at Bhavans till July 1 and on July 2 and 3, the venue of the gets shifts to Arkay Centre, Luz. Open to all, Features some of the best artistes and also stages the finale of the pallavi contest.
