Pattappa Catering is a famous name among Brahmins, known best for their onion/garlic-free traditional food. The firm has served thousands of people for many decades and is known worldwide.
Now, this reputed caterer is opening a restaurant in Luz. Called ‘ Pattappa’s Thaligai’, it will feature simple, home cooked authentic Brahmin-style food.
“We are here by popular demand. A lot of the older generation people, who prefer onion/garlic free food come up to us at the weddings where we cater, and ask us to open up a restaurant. We are starting this venture primarily to please them”, says Pattappa Balaji.
The restaurant will open on May 19. “Since the election results will come out on that day, we will function only from 8 a.m. till 10 a.m. on that day,” says Balaji.
Regular services will resume from May 23, Monday.
The restaurant will then be open for breakfast (7 to 10 a.m.), lunch (12 to 3 p.m.) and dinner (7 to 10 p.m.). All meals will be unlimited, priced at Rs. 150 per meal.
Takeaway will also be an option.
“People can sign up for food takeaway. They will have to intimate us ahead of time and we can have packed boxes ready for pickup. As of now, we are not planning to deliver – unless we have a lot of orders from a single place”, adds Balaji.
The restaurant premises is located opposite Nageswara Rao Park, Luz Church Road. For details, call 9840184546.
When any marriage is fixed in our family, the first thing to do is to take the shortest route to Triplicane and fix Mr.Pattappa for our marriage.Any marriage will be spoken and remembered for a long time when the caterer serves a tasty and quality food. Both these things are well taken care of by Pattappa. We can find Iyengar touch on every aspect of catering arrangement by them. Who can forget the ready mix Rasam Saadham introduced by Pattappa long time back. I love to eat their Seer Bakshanam unmindful of my Blood sugar level. It gives every one more happiness to hear they have opened a restaurant in Mylapore, and people like me will make a beeline to taste the mouth watering recipes, more prepared in Iyengar style.
Thanks
