The special postal cover marking the kumbhabishekam of Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore and brought out by Mylapore Times sold out fast ( only three covers are available at the office).
The cover, released on April 3 features the visual of the east gopuram of the temple, shot on the kumbhabishekam morning and has a ‘Mylapore’ cancellation on the postage stamp used ( Rs.5 denomination).
The idea was suggested by philatelist D. H. Rao and the PMG of Chennai arranged to cancel the covers that Sunday at the Mylapore Post Office to make this a collector’s item. It is priced Rs.50.
