More than 100 class VIII students, who had completed a four month computer course, received certificates at the farewell day celebrations held at St. Lazarus Middle School, R. A. Puram on April 1. Topics like photoshop, banner designing, powerpoint, excel and several others were covered under this course.
Sister Arokia Mary, the headmistress of the school says, “All the students who took the course were from economically challenged backgrounds who would come to school everyday from places like Semmencherry and Kannagi Nagar. They have worked very hard to complete this course and we hope that they will be able to use this knowledge in higher classes”.
A cultural programme with preppy dance numbers, songs and poetry was put by the students of class VII. The boys and girls who pass out from this middle school will move on to other schools in the neighbourhood like St. Anthony’s Girls School, Mandavelipakkam and San Thome Higher Secondary School, San Thome.
The school can be contacted at 24612832.
