Nothing much has progressed on P S Sivaswamy Salai after the State Human Rights Commission took note of a media report on the delay in the completion of the Metrowater project.
Last weekend, on a visit to this area we saw that two and three-wheelers had carved a driving space on one end of the road that has been closed down and now use it to gain access to the main Royapettah High Road.
Buses and cars though cannot use this dug-up road.
The road sunk in November’s rains and Metrowater found that there was a crack in its pipeline and got a contractor to undertake the work. This led to a major diversion of the dense traffic. But the work came to a stop some weeks ago, left partly done.
