Maha Sivarathri was celebrated with great vigour at the temples at Mylapore yesterday. The temples, which were open all throughout the night, witnessed a steady stream of devotees till dawn today morning (March 8).
At all the temples, a naalu kalam pooja was performed for the deity from 9 p.m. till 6 a.m. Abhishekams and aradhanais were done all throughout the night and prasadam was distributed to all the devotees.
Several other local groups like Thamizhnadu Brahmin Association, SS International Live, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Madhuradwani and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan too had organised music, dance, poojas and bhajans.
