To celebrate ‘Women’s Day’, a flash mob dance was held by the team of NGO Thuvakkam on March 8 at Marina Beach. Over 35 members took part in the dance which was choreographed by Saba Rathnam and dealt with the issue of abuse that women are face in their day-to-day life.
The event began with a welcome address by Raghav, vice president of Thuvakkam followed by the performance. Incorporated into the dance was a skit which contrasted how women are perceived in society, and what they are capable of achieving if empowered.
