Much before the date for elections to the Tamil Nadu state Assembly was announced ( polling is on May 16), local units of political parties got into the act.
The members of the DMK units have painted a few walls in the public spaces with a ‘I Love DMK’ themed design – these though have been painted white and blanked out soon after the election date was announced in accordance with Election Commission guidelines which bans wall graffiti.
The PMK party cadres have been pasting small posters on public walls, projecting its leader Dr Anbumani Ramadoss. The posters are also locally-focussed – with content focussed on city issues.
The Mylapore Assembly constituency is currently represented by the AIADMK’s, R. Rajalakshmi.
