Chennai Corporation engineers and Mylaporeans are hosting a meeting on Wednesday, March 2 morning at Bhavans in Mylapore to discuss ways in which the project to relay wider pavements and made the mada streets smart and the zone more user-friendly.
This meet is at 11 a.m. at the mini hall of Bhavans, East Mada Street. Residents, hawkers, shop owners and activists have been invited to this meeting.
Though work on this project is well underway from the Luz Church Road end to the Luz Circle end, most hawkers say they will not quit the pavements they occupy while managers of Sri Kapali Temple say the design will hamper movement of the large chariots during key festivals.
