Chennai Fine Arts is celebrating its 14th anniversary by organising a music festival from Feb 1 – 6 at Srinivasa Sastri Hall, Mylapore. R. T. Chari, vice president, Music Academy and Dr. Premeela Gurumurthy, retd. head of the department of Indian music, University of Madras, are the guests of honour at the inaugural function to be held on Feb 1 at 5.30 p.m.
Prizes will be distributed to the winners of the Oothukkadu Venkatakavi competition held earlier. A concert by Dr. T. V. Gopalakrishnan will follow the inaugural function.
Noted artistes including Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan, Carnatica Brothers, O. S. Arun and Akkarai Sisters will be performing at this six day festival. At Luz Church Road, Mylapore, 6.15 p.m.
