CAN DO is a social initiative that provides training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. It is located in Abhiramapuram. This weekend, the disabled people at Can Do have some different plans to celebrate Valentine’s Day – to encourage people to reduce the usage of plastic and recycle/reuse cloth bags.
To this end, they have adopted a neighbourhood store, Sri Murugan Stores, R. A. Puram 2nd Main Road. All shoppers to the store on the Feb 13 and 14 will receive a cloth bag free, which will be distributed at the till and at the exit, by people with disabilities. The Can Do resources will encourage the shoppers to switch over to using cloth bags for their shopping.
