If instances of roads and stress caving in have been happening in the area since the December floods, more recently sewage overflow is taking place in some areas too and polluting the areas.
The past few days, two areas where sewage leaks out in large quantities and perennially too have seen the problem resurface. At the junction of St Mary’s Road and C P RamaswamyRoad and on Kamaraj Salai in R A Puram.
Metrowater staff and lorries have been stationed here the past days trying to tackle the problem which surfaces time and again.
It is said that sewages leaks are severe at main pipeline joints and this loosens the earth and the sewage forces itself out.
