On the occasion of the birthday of Swami Vivekananda (Jan 12), Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore distributed utensils to 600 families living on the sea shore in Srinivasapuram and Foreshore Estate.
According to the manager at the Math, from Dec 3 till the first week of Jan, relief materials worth 1,52,00,000 have been distributed to flood victims in Chennai and certain areas in Cuddalore District. 1,34,844 persons belonging to 38,000 families have been benefited by the relief work undertaken by the Math.
