Sakuntala Rajakumar, wife of Rev. D. G. Rajakumar and Chairperson St. John’s Educational Trust, passed away on Dec 30 after a brief illness.

Vasantha Kumari Koilraj, aged 74, passed away on Jan 10. She was the wife of Francis Koilraj and retired from Reserve Bank of India, Chennai.
Vasantha was the eldest daughter of Mrs. and Mr. E. T. Luther. She did her schooling in St. Ebbas Girls Higher Secondary School, PUC in Women’s Christian College and MA from Tirupathi University. She joined RBI in 1961 and completed more than 40 years of service.
Vasantha married Francis Koilraj in 1967. The couple have two children and four grandchildren. She was closely associated with the activities of the CSI Good Shepherd Church Mylapore.
She is survived by her husband, son Joseph Vinodhraj, daughter-in-law Anitha and grandsons Kevin and Levin, daughter Vinola Paul, son-in-law Solomon Paul and granddaughters Jessica and Veronica. Contact the family at 24990919.
S. Mallikarjunan, passed away on Jan 11. He was a journalist, movie producer and director. He was born on June 26 1925 at Tiruvanamalai, educated at Voorhees College, Vellore. He moved to Nadu Street, Mylapore in 1948. He then started his career as a composer – printer in various Tamil dailies and magazines.
He was the assistant editor of Thinathanthi daily from its beginning till 1955, for the cinema/drama and dance sections. He was involved with many film and drama related magazines like Film News, Kalanidhi, Picture News and Thilakam.
He was a life member of All India Sai Samaj, Mylapore. He is survived by his son, daughters, grand children and great grand children. Contact his son Suresh Kanthan at 9444049002.
