San Thome High Road, near Amma Unavagam, is inundated with knee deep water. Vehicles have stopped plying on this road. Suresh. S, a resident of Mandavelipakkam, had a narrow escape. He says, “I am an IT professional and I have to report for work today. Weird noises started coming from my car when I started to drive through the water. I was worried that I might get stuck here but luckily I managed to drive past slowly”.
Kamala, a resident of San Thome, is stocking up on supplies at Nilgiris there. She says, “I dont know when the rains will stop. I rather finish my shopping in the morning. It might be difficult for me to come out once it becomes dark”.
