Seven years old skater, L. Rithika, won medals at the CBSE South Zone Skating Championship 2015 in the ‘below 8 years inline girls’ category representing Tamilnadu ‘. She secured silver and a bronze medal in Rink 5 (500 meters) and Rink 4 (300 meters) events respectively. This qualifies her to participate in the National level skating championship to be held at Vadodara in Jan 2016.
DRS International School, Hyderabad, in association with CBSE, organised the championship 2015 for boys and girls from Nov 6 to 9. The meet was held at DRS international school for Girls and Boys, Hyderabad.
Nearly 1040 participants drawn from over 275 CBSE schools from Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Pondicherry and Kerala participated in this meet. The winners in each category will qualify for the national skating championship.
Rithika is a Class II student of Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School. She has been learning skating for the last 4 years from N. Sathyamoorthy in Sathya Speed Skating Association (SSSA Club). Rithika has already bagged various medals in the club meets, district and state-level championships.
