C. Seshadri (Ex-IOB) aged 65 years passed away on Nov 7. He has been a resident of Mylapore for over 22 years. He was a part of the daily Thinnai Talks, held by a group of senior citizens.
He is survived by his wife, son, daughter, grandson and grand daughter. His family resides at 76/I, II Floor, T. S. V. Koil Street, Mylapore.
K. Raman, aged 92, passed away on Nov 20 at Mylapore.
After acquiring Honours Degrees in Science and Commerce from Madras, he joined the Personnel Dept. of Madura Mills Co Ltd (later Madura Coats) in 1946, and retired in 1980 as Director Personnel.
In Madurai, he was president of Madura Rotary Club and a Mason of Masonic Lodge, where he rose to the position of Worshipful Master of the Lodge.
E. Kamatchi Ammal, aged 85, passed away on Nov 20 after a brief ailment. She was the head of a business family along with her late husband E. Elumalai Chettiar. Coming from a small village near Uttiramerur, they started a small shop at T. Nagar called ‘Ganapathy Provision Stores’. They moved to Abhiramapuram 60 years back and started ‘Kasi Provision Stores’ on First Street and Mani Rice Depot, Kasi Coffee and Rajaganapathy Flour Mills on C. P. Ramaswamy Road and Mahalakshmi Provision Stores at Besant Nagar. Under her guidance, Chennai Chips, Colour India Films and Dina Group of Colour Labs were opened in many places in the state.
