Two groups in the Mylapore area celebrated their annual day on Nov 1.
Over 70 residents, including women and children, of Raja Street, Mandaveli got together for their first annual day celebration held at the street premises.
The event started off with the lighting of the kuthuvilaku by five women followed by a movie on how the association was started and its activities this past year. Later talks on garbage segregation and fire safety were given by residents Ashok Rajendran and ex-IPS officer S. Ramani. The event ended with a cake cutting ceremony and a game – musical chairs for both children and adults.
Hamsanadam Music School, run by vocalist Dr. Shubha Ganesan, celebrated its annual day at P. S. School, Mylapore.
Violinist Dr. M. Chandrasekaran presided over the function and V. V. Sundaram was the chief guest at this event.
A video on 20 years of Hamsanadam’s music journey was screened followed by a thematic presentation ‘Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum’ by the students of the school
