A lot of effort went into Sunday’s Animals Day event hoisted at St Thomas Cathedral in San Thome – the car park was cut off despite the Sunday rush for Masses here, posters were set up all over and volunteers brought in.
At about 11 a.m., the first of pets were blessed – there were pups and dogs, some cats and even cows and donkeys.
Priests blessed the animals as they were brought to the venue; the event closed at about 11.30 a.m.
It was an occasion for people to take a close look at some cute pups that children proudly held up.
