The office of San Thome Cathedral has begun the process of streamlining the management of Quibble Island Cemetery, R A Puram. It has now asked families whose members and relatives are buried there to register their names and get an ID card.
These families will also have to pay a annual maintenance fee of Rs.100.
The process has started on the eve of All Souls Day – Nov.2 – when people remember the dead and pray for them at churches and at graveyards.
