Sri Krishna jayanthi celebrations in the Mylapore neighborhood held on the weekend were mostly restricted to homes and communities. The buzz though was at and around the Nandala Centre on Dr Ranga Road, Mylapore.
Here, while religious events were held inside across two days a few fun events were held outside, on the road. The popular one was the uriyadi event which allowed blind-folded people to use a pole to crack a pot hung high above. The event drew a crowd around it though this was not comparable to the Janmasthami events in Mumbai which are a huge draw.
