Textile enthusiast Sabita Radhakrishna will talk about ‘ The Romance of the Indian Sari’ at The Gallery Sri Parvati, Alwarpet at 5 p.m. The event is titled Kai Thari, after a group launched when Sabitha announced the ’60 handloom saree’ pact in May. The initiative was to invite women to wear more handloom sarees and also to archive information about different types of Indian fabrics, weaves, organise trips to weaving communities and identify cooperatives that work with weavers.
