More than 1100 students took part in the Lady Sivaswami Ayyar Girls School’s sports meet held at Chitrakulam North Street, Mylapore recently. The chief guests were T. Ravikumar, district chair person, chennai district 324A1 and Megla Ravikumar, founder and president, Lioness club of Shree
Darshan.
Parents and guests who attended the meet were seen cheering for the young girls who participated in drills, marchpast, a yoga and silambam demonstration, a pyramid formation, dances and several other events. The prize for the best march past was given to the Padmam house and the overall shield was won by the Jyothi house.
The school also conducted its 147th school day at the school premises on July 25. The chief guest was noted playback singer and alumni member – Vani Jairam who sang a few of her favourite songs much to the delight of the audience. The prize distribution ceremony was then held. A dance drama
‘Karaikal Ammaiyar’, a choral music performance, a lamp and kurathi dance by middle school students and an English play – ‘The referee’ were all part of the well planned cultural programme that followed the prize distribution ceremony.
