A colourful dance by KG students, songs by the school choir on ‘Swacch Bharat and unity and diversity’, a dance on the influence of ‘Matha, pitha, guru and deivam’ and a retro dance by the primary students were the highlights of Venugopal Vidyalaya School’s annual day celebrations held on July 25.
The event started off with the lighting of the kuthuvilakku by the chief guest C. Annapoorani, inspector of matriculation schools, Chennai followed by the welcome address by the principal Srimathi Shivaraman. The school is the academic centre of Telugu Mahajana Samajan and several dignitaries from the Samajam including the president – E. S. Reddy, the vice president Anilkumar Reddy, and the treasurer – Ranga Reddy attended the event.
Later a cultural programme was held followed by a prize distribution ceremony in which class X and XII toppers were awarded prizes. General proficiency prizes were also distributed. The school is located at Mandaveli.
