Several groups in the Mylapore area celebrated Onam this past week……here are a few snapshots..
Seen in the picture are children of Fatima Nursery and Primary School at Lazarus Church Road dressed up as King Mahabali, Lord Vishnu and the brahmin – Vamana. The teachers explained the story of King Mahabali to them and also helped them put up a pookalam at the school premises.
The staff of State Bank of Travancore, R. A. Puram got together to put up a beautiful pookalam at the bank premises. This is an annual event that the staff eagerly look forward to every year.
At Sprouts Montessori School, Mylapore, children and staff came dressed in traditional costumes, sorted out the flowers and put up a pookalam in their classroom. The children were also given a presentation on why and how this festival is celebrated.
