A unique piece of jewellery named Magarakandigai, valued at more than 10 lakh rupees was recently donated by a devotee to the diety at Sri Vedanta Desikar Temple, Mylapore.
According to a trustee, the piece is made out of gold and precious stones like rubies, pushparagam and emeralds.
The design is based on a similar piece known as ‘Ananthachar Magarakandigai’ which adorns the deity at Sri Varadarajaswamy Temple, Kanchipuram.
