On July 9, actor Kamal Haasan will launch the KB Foundation in memory of his mentor and famed film director and dramatist K Balachander who passed away a few months ago. The day-long event will take place at the T N Rajarathinam Auditorium in R A Puram, next to the Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital campus.
The evening’s main event includes the launch as well as awards to three people from the cinema, stage and TV field. Kathadi Ramamurthy is one of the awardees.
An award in the name of Balachander’s son, Bala Kailasam who passed away last year is also to be given.
Plans are on to screen Uttamma Villain, the film which starred Balachander and was recently released and to have a discussion on KB’s films.
