Vidya Mandir Alumni Association has in the recent past been very active in establishing close links with alumni members across the batches. In Aug 2014, the association received donations of Rs. 15 lakhs towards the corpus with specific requirements to apply the interest towards the education of students admitted under the RTE Act.
In this regard, a cheque for Rs. 93, 000 was handed over to the principal of Vidya Mandir, Mylapore – Shobha Raman recently by the president of the alumni association – M. Kannuswamy.
The school is currently celebrating its 60th anniversary and plans to organise events to facilitate interaction among alumni members. Students of the school will also be given an opportunity to participate in events related to the anniversary celebrations.
