The 30th annual Sports Day of Chettinad Vidyashram, R. A. Puram was declared open by the chief guest Anand Mohan, deputy inspector general of police, Central Industrial Security Force. He hoisted the national and school flag at the event which was held on July 26 at Kumararani Meena Muthiah College Ground, Gandhi Nagar, Adyar.
The event started off with the march past by crisply dressed students of the school band, prefectorial body, NCC cadets, V-Care club, cubs/bulbuls, scouts/guides, the four houses – Emerald, Ruby, Pearl and Sapphire, athletic and various sports teams. This was followed by a mass drill, a yoga demonstration and a fusion dance.
Later students participated in track events. The Emerald house, led by captain Anand K. R. and assistant captains Sai Sanjana Edara and Nikhil Shankar, bagged three shields and lifted the overall trophy.
