Queen Mary’s College has declared holidays for students on June 29 and 30 because storage and counting of votes in the b y election at the R K Nagar city Assembly constituency is to take place then.
Chief minister and AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa is the party candidate here. She entered the fray after a court gave her relief in a case in which she stop disqualified as MLA.
R K Nagar is in north Chennai but the QMC is usually used for counting of votes in state and national elections.
