A free eye camp for members of the Vaideeha family and the general public was held at Sankaralayam, Mylapore on June 9.
Over 60 people, including senior citizens, were treated by a team of ophthalmologists from Sankara Nethralaya, Numgambakkam.
While some were prescribed glasses, others who needed further treatment were asked to the come to the hospital for free treatment.
The camp was organised by Mylai Vaideeha Maha Jana Sabha. The Sabha also distributes food to the general public twice a week in the evening – Thursdays and Fridays at 5 p.m. At 26, Chitrakulam North Street, Mylapore. Ph: 24957195.
