Residents of Chidambara Swamy 3rd Street in Mylapore say that frequent power outages are affecting life in this colony which is located off Vivekananda College.
This problem has been persisting for some time now, they say. On April 26th there was no power for 12 hours and on 29th May there was no power for a period of 25 hours, a resident says.
There are frequent power cuts of 3-4 hours duration, they add. TANGEDCO’s local area staff now say that the cables here are old and this is the cause of the outages.
On asking about replacement of power cable, the officials have kept mum.
