From the last week of April, Spoonbill at Alwarpet has been conducting a series of fireless cookery workshops for children aged 6 – 12 years. The little chefs can learn to make everything from their favourite snacks and cakes to wraps, rolls, mango and choco delights.
The director Charlie Singh says, “The only thing that the kids need to bring to this workshop is their passion for cooking and eating. Each workshop will cover four recipes which are simple to follow and easy to make. At the end of each workshop kids will get their own chef hat, apron, recipe book, certificate, personalized photo and of course, a sumptuous Spoonbill lunch”.
The three workshops that have been conducted so far has seen an overwhelming response. Charlie says, “We don’t accept more than 15 students per workshop as we really want the students to learn and we don’t want this to be a lecture session. The workshop on cakes and bakes that was conducted yesterday (May 6) had about 30 registrants and so split it up into two batches.
The next workshop, the Magic Mango workshop – dedicated to mango based recipes, will be held on May 13, 10 a.m. onwards. Register two days before the workshop. At 239, T. T. K. Road, Alwarpet. To register call 9003233331.
