DMK leader M. Karunanidhi was chief guest at the Muthamizh Peravai festival hosted at the T N Rajarathinam Kalai Arangam in R A Puram on Monday evening. Keeping in line with the mood in the state which gears for election next year, Karunanidhi said that people must keep in mind the need for a stable government and that whether the DMK party ruled the state or not it had the right to rule Tamil language and culture.
He later presented a few awards and among those who got the awards were writer Manushyaputhiran and singer Shobana.
This is the 37th edition of the fest. This evening, ‘Mahanadhi’ Shobana Vignesh sings at 6.30p.m.
