Dr. Ghosh Charitable Trust, an NGO based in Alwarpet, recently conducted a free medical camp at an old age home in the city. More than 50 inmates of the home were tested for ailments.
Founded by neurologist Dr. Siddharth Ghosh about 12 years ago, the trust gives scholarships to more than 30 M.B.B.S students (below the poverty line) to help them complete their studies. The trust also organises health camps and provides drugs to the inmates of four homes that they have adopted.
In addition to this, head injury awareness camps and continued medical education programmes for doctors at government hospitals in Chennai are conducted by the trust frequently. The trust is located at C. P. Ramaswamy Road, Alwarpet. Ph: 9003269621.
